Orbea Spirit Carbon + Gran Fondo Review!
Yes, I finally got the new bike. It's a Orbea Spirit Carbon, and here's my review! The frame is a mix of steel, carbon fork and seat stays. Pretty neat bike. Gran Fondo of Nashville moved most of my Campy components from my Colnago to this bike to save me some money. Hey, I don't need two 'fast bikes'. Read more about my experience!
OK, it's now spec'ed out with FROM MY OLD BIKE Ambrosio wheels FSA compact crank Campy Centaur 12-25 cassette (I'd like to go Keep reading [...]

Visit to Memphis, TN!
No, don't get too excited. With plans for a nice day hike dashed, I'm sitting here in the public library writing about my visit to the Riverfront, Outdoors Inc. and some BBQ. Who knows what's in store for tonight? Tunica MS?
Yes, I must be bored. March 3, 2007.
This morning, we started our day at the Days Inn off I40 at exit 20, whatever that town was. We took I40 on into Memphis, and I dropped Donna off at 8AM at the Madison Hotel for an injectables seminar. OK, now I have 2 hours to burn Keep reading [...]

GSMNP Feb 2007 Winter Hike!
OK, I had one overnight backpacking trip under my belt to Bearwaller Gap where it rained the second day while the temerature was in the low 30's. I needed something more difficult if I were to top that trip! Why not accept the invitation to hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in February? Plan was to leave on Friday night, stay in Cades Cove Campground. Leave Saturday for Russell Field shelter on the Appalachian Trail, head to primitive campsite #9 for Sunday night, Keep reading [...]

Asian Food – Nashville
Man, do I love Asian food! This article will explore some of my favorites in Nashville. If you like Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese or Korean, these are some of my favorites around Nashville, TN.
I'm one of those guys that gets tired of the same old traditional food. Hamburgers, steaks, grilled chicken, potatoes, blah blah blah. If you're after an adventure, an eating adventure during the week may be just what you need! You get the 'unknown' factor, mediocre or terrible health ratings, Keep reading [...]

What’s Coming – Misc Outdoors
Just wanted to have something in my Misc Outdoors topic. I started to put hiking in it, but there seems to be enough content to fill up a hiking topic. Things to come for this Topic: Canoeing Fly Fishing Slackline? Gardening?Who knows what else. We'll see.PS - I read a cool quote today. People always ask me, "why do you rock climb, hike, ride your bike 100's of miles, etc?" This says it best:So what if I fell off a cliff or got eaten by a bear. I’d gone Keep reading [...]

Granny’s Gumbo Recipe!
OK, here are the rules. If you happen to stumble onto this recipe and use it for commercial purposes, it must be sold as "Granny Clements' Gumbo". I guarantee this to be the best seafood gumbo you'll ever eat. After cooking this, you'll find that it's a lot like Louisiana gumbo. My family roots are in Mobile AL, and many of our ancestors were from the New Orleans area. Always a good supply of shrimp and crabmeat from the bay area, and okra from the deep hot humid southern Keep reading [...]
